In May 2020, b.offshore received the order to design, manufacture and installation of an mobile heavy duty lifting system for the installation of the container system (modular living quarters) at BorWin Beta OSS from ELA Container Offshore GmbH.

BorWin Beta is an offshore platform in the BorWin2 grid connection project in the German exclusive economic zone (EEZ). The platform is located about 110 kilometers from the mainland in the North Sea.

The electricity generated by 147 wind turbines from the offshore wind farms Global Tech I and Veja Mate is fed into the German power grid via high-voltage direct current transmission. BorWin Beta has a total output of 800 MW.

ELA Container Offshore GmbH was founded in 2014 and has been offering containerised accommodation solutions for the offshore market.

The high-quality container modules are built and certified to the highest quality standards, such as ISO 10855 / EN 12079-1 / DNV 2.7-1, based on SOLAS, IMO FSS Code and MLC, as well as CSC plated. This to ensure a widespread acceptance of the units by a wide variety of classification agencies.
