10 years b.offshore - Highlights from 2016

b.offshore GmbH was founded on April 19, 2016, and will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2026. The highlights of the past decade will be presented in upcoming news articles – starting with the founding year, 2016.

As early as 2016, b.offshore established itself as a versatile service provider in planning, surveying, refitting, inspection, and maintenance, thereby laying the foundation for its development into a specialized offshore engineering company. In the same year, the team grew to 17 employees through the integration of former WeserWind staff, who contributed their offshore experience effectively from the very beginning.

A key project in the founding year was the Baltic 2 offshore substation (OSS). The employees assisted with the commissioning of the platform for the client at the time, Alstom Grid GmbH – now GE Grid GmbH. In addition, b.offshore conducted recurring inspections of the wind turbine foundations and the OSS on behalf of EnBW, both below and above the waterline.

Since its founding, b.offshore GmbH has been based on Geo-Plate-Straße in the Bremerhaven Overseas Port and has remained committed to this location to this day, not least due to its expansion potential.
