10 years b.offshore - Highlights from 2020
The year 2020 presented the offshore wind industry with extraordinary challenges. Travel restrictions, new hygiene regulations and changes to working procedures required a high degree of flexibility as well as precise project coordination. Despite these exceptional circumstances, b.offshore GmbH managed to successfully complete numerous projects and further consolidate its position as a reliable engineering and service provider.
A key focus was on the refurbishment and modernization work on the offshore converter platforms DolWin gamma and BorWin beta. Among other things, the drinking water, sanitary and living quarters were modernized, and the technical systems were adapted to meet new requirements. b.offshore was also involved in the Hohe See offshore wind farm, where the company carried out various refurbishment projects and provided expert services. In addition, the company developed a technical concept for the Riffgat offshore wind farm to integrate an additional 33 kV cable, thereby contributing to the further expansion of the existing infrastructure.
b.offshore has also demonstrated its expertise at an international level. As part of the Yunlin offshore wind power project in Taiwan, the company provided support with workshop planning and with the development and supply of photovoltaic systems for the temporary power supply of transition pieces.
These projects were supplemented by extensive inspection and testing services, including regular electrical tests, underwater inspections and hygiene inspections of the technical installations.
The year 2020 has clearly shown that professional expertise, flexibility and a dedicated team form the basis for successfully tackling demanding tasks, even under exceptional circumstances, and for overcoming new challenges together.
