Floor renovation on offshore converter platform successfully completed
b.offshore GmbH has successfully completed the renovation of the flooring in the living quarters of an offshore converter platform. The work covered an area of approximately 180 m² and was carried out by a five-person team in two project phases.
Due to moisture buildup in the subfloor structure of the living areas, a comprehensive renovation was necessary. First, the existing flooring was completely removed using a floor-stripping machine and various hand tools. This was followed by the controlled drying of the subfloor. During this phase, the moisture content was measured at regular intervals to monitor progress and determine the optimal time to proceed with further work.
Once the required level of dryness was achieved, installation of the new flooring system began. A layer of epoxy resin was applied and leveled to create a permanently flat surface. The team then installed a PVC flooring system, which was glued and welded in place to create a watertight and durable surface.
With the successful completion of the project, b.offshore GmbH made another contribution to the long-term maintenance of the living quarters on the offshore converter platform.
