Temporary power generation units for the construction phase of an offshore wind farm

b.offshore GmbH was able to contribute its expertise during the installation phase of an offshore wind farm currently under construction. Three self-sufficient 10-foot energy containers were developed, built, and commissioned in the North Sea for the operator to ensure the power supply for the radio network operation for the installation personnel. The entire project cycle was covered, from the initial design to final commissioning in the offshore wind farm.

The three 10-foot containers were positioned on the respective foundation transition pieces. The energy is generated by a combination of photovoltaics and fuel cells and can be temporarily stored in batteries. The fuel cells are used in particular when PV yield is low.
